What is a Labradoodle?

I first got the brainstorm to create "Labradoodles" when my Dad bought a beautiful yellow British lab, he was papered with AKC Championships on both sides, and he was about as smart and gorgeous as a dog could get, in my opinion.  I have owned labs my entire life, but the thought of the labradoodle intrigued me.  I went and had a long talk with my vet. He explained to me that labradoodles are a ONE GENERATION breed, that further breeding does not make more labradoodles, that you only lose the breed as a whole.

He said it has to be a 50/50 blend, and he asked that IF I chose to breed this mix, that I ask that all pups be spayed or neutered to preserve the breed.

Next came the search for the perfect poodle.  It was decided that we wanted a bloodline with proven sports dogs, healthy, happy and smart pups to bring home with me.  I researched many breeders, then stumbled across Gloria Bunne in Spring Valley, MN.  We talked and I went and picked out my first poodle.  Who would have thought, that when I went to pick UP my Mija, that I would spot Gloria's silver mommy, "Paris" and start my obsession to make a silver labradoodle!  In comes poodle number 2!  Throughout the last 2 years, we have enjoyed having the girls as our 4 pawed children, they are housedogs that do darn near everything that we do, they even came to work with me every day for over a year!
